Comments: When you leave comments on our site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, your IP address, and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string from your email (hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. Upon comment approval, your profile picture becomes visible publicly.

Media: If you upload images, we advise you to avoid including location data (EXIF GPS). Other visitors can extract any location data from images on the site.


  • Comment Cookies: Opt-in to save your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience, so you don’t need to fill them in again for future comments. These last for one year.
  • Login Cookies: Temporary cookies check if your browser accepts cookies and are discarded when you close your browser. Additional cookies save your login info and screen display choices; these last for two days to one year, depending on your settings.
  • Editing Cookies: When editing or publishing an article, a cookie (no personal data) indicating the post ID is saved, expiring after 1 day.

Embedded Content: Articles may include content (e.g., videos, images) from other websites. This content behaves just like it would if you visited the source website, which may collect data, use cookies, and monitor interactions.

Data Sharing: Your data may be sent to automated spam detection services. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

  • Comments: We retain comments and their metadata indefinitely for recognition and approval of follow-up comments.
  • Registered Users: Personal information from your user profile can be seen, edited, or deleted at any time (username cannot be changed). Admins can also view and edit this information.
  • Your Rights: You can request an exported file of your personal data we hold, including any data provided to us. You can also request erasure of your personal data, excluding data retained for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Accounts and Minors:

  • Individuals aged 13 or older can create an account. Those under 13 require a parent or guardian to create an account on their behalf, aligning with COPPA regulations.
  • We ensure the privacy of minors and do not require more information than necessary for participation in educational activities. Any personal information from minors is used solely for educational purposes and not shared without explicit parental consent.
