Tutorial

Welcome to our Learning Management System (LMS). This page walks you through logging in, finding your training track, navigating your course, and getting help if you need it.

Logging In

If you’re not already logged in, this screen appears automatically as soon as you visit the site. There’s nothing to click to bring it up. Most users will sign in with their school district Microsoft account, but there’s also a path for districts that use Google or don’t have a district email.

Login screen: Sign in with Microsoft, or create/log in with your own email

Sign in with Microsoft. If your district email works with Microsoft, click Sign in with Microsoft and enter your district email address.

If your district uses Google, or you don’t have a district email: use the two links below the divider instead.

The first time, click Create Account with Your Email and fill in the registration form. After your account exists, use Login with Your Email on future visits.

Once you’re logged in, you won’t see this screen again until you log out or your session expires; you don’t need to log in every single time you visit. If you need to log in directly without waiting for a page to prompt you, use this link: Log in to the Holler LMS.

Find Your Training Track

Right after login, you’ll answer a short 4-step questionnaire before reaching My Courses. Your answers automatically enroll you in the correct course track for your district: New Employee Training, 4-Year Certification, or Annual Training.

  • Step 1: Are you a KVEC staff member? Most users are district employees and will answer No. KVEC staff answer Yes and are routed separately.
  • Step 2: Are you a new employee hired within the last 12 months? Answering Yes enrolls you in New Employee Training.
  • Step 3: Have you ever completed the 4-Year Certification or equivalent? This determines whether you need to start the 4-year cycle or have already completed it before.
  • Step 4: When did you last complete the 4-Year Certification? Pick the year from the dropdown so the LMS knows where you are in the certification cycle.

Every step also includes two links at the bottom:
• “I have already completed my required training this cycle”: choose this if you’re done with your required training and just need to get to your dashboard.
• “I’m here for different courses, not Opening Day”: choose this if you’re looking for a course outside the standard Opening Day track.

Enrolling in a Different Course

The questionnaire enrolls you in the course that matches your requirements. If you later try to enroll in a different Opening Day course, you’ll see this message so you know you’re stepping outside the track that was set for you.

This isn’t a hard stop. If you believe you were enrolled in the wrong course to start with, click Continue with this course to proceed with your new selection. Otherwise, click Go back to my current course to return to the course that matches your requirements.

If Your District Isn’t Ready Yet

Some districts’ annual trainings are still being loaded. If yours is one of them, you’ll see this message after login instead of the questionnaire.

We're not ready for your district yet
Click Proceed to your dashboard to go straight to My Courses and access anything you’re already enrolled in. Check back soon. Once your district’s trainings are ready, the questionnaire will appear on your next login and get you enrolled.

My Courses & Navigating a Course

Once you’re through the questionnaire, the LMS takes you to the My Courses page. From here you can easily access, begin, or continue your coursework.

Once in the course, you’ll see a short description, tabs for Curriculum, Announcements & News, QnA, and Notes, and an orange Start or Continue Course button. Click this button to begin working within the curriculum.

Inside the course, the course title and completion percentage are in the upper left of your window, with the full curriculum list below and content on the right-hand side of the screen. Use the Next Unit button in the top right to move through the curriculum in order so the LMS tracks your progress.

Taking Quizzes

Most quizzes are timed. The countdown starts as soon as you open the quiz, so make sure you’re ready before you begin.

Answer each question, then click Submit Quiz once you’ve answered them all; your quiz is graded instantly. If the questions are hidden, click Show Questions to bring them back. If you don’t pass, you may retake it.

The Help Desk

The Help Desk link is at the top of every page. If you have a question or issue, submit a ticket and we usually respond within an hour during regular business hours.

Accessing Your Certificates

When you log in, you’re automatically directed to your dashboard. From there, you can get to every certificate you’ve earned on the site in just a couple of clicks.
